SPRING STYLE

Maybe it’s my current season of life or the current never-ending-winter in the northwest, but I’ve been feeling ready for style re-vamp lately. Also being in Southern California for the past month with so many Legoland days has immersed me in a new kind of fashionable, wearable mom style. Sharing some things I’ve picked up lately and am liking.

SHOES

The crew socks and sneakers look is my whole style lately. Extra warmth and extra practical.

Classic white sneakers. Any kind. If you happen to wear smaller than a women’s size 8, you can shop kids! I discovered this trick and it saves me so much (at the time these were under $30).

Converse all star high tops. Nike bought converse and revamped the classic All Stars, they are so much more comfortable than what we grew up on. Cushioned insoles! So great.

Leopard print Adidas. A find! If you can fit a woman’s 8 or smaller, it’s your lucky day. A steal ($26), so cute and comfortable.

JEANS

I love all of Madewell’s perfect vintage straight jeans and I buy on super sale. I cut the hem on most to hit above the ankle and they are so much more wearable that way. Each wash fits a little differently. Have also heard good things about these ($25!) and am trying them.

TANKS

SWIM

OUTERWEAR

an oversized denim jacket. Trying this this and this and sizing up in all. Will report back which one is the keeper.

HATS

Wearing one every day while I walk my kids to school. Perfect for covering unwashed hair, keeping the rain (or if we’re lucky, the sun!) off my face

black ($9! Has held up surprisingly well over two years, still looks new) | white (I showed up to preschool pickup in this last week and my friend was wearing the same one. Looks good on everyone.)

THE WORKOUT CROP TOP

Athleta, a B corp, makes the best crop top, normally $60 but sometimes on sale for as low as $15.

UNDER IT ALL

While we’re here, the best ever undies from here (and also their leggings!). Sustainably made, no show under leggings, so comfy. And this daily comfy no wire bra.

What are you wearing and loving these days?

THREE ARIZONA RESORTS

We love Arizona! It’s a cheap-ish short flight from Seattle, reliably warm, and a frequented winter destination for us. We spent a dreamy weekend at a family friendly resort and wanted to share our three favorite places to stay, two in Scottsdale and one nearby in Phoenix (not sponsored).

  1. Royal Palms Resort

Beautiful, upscale, boutique-y and quiet.

2. Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Gainey Ranch

Our kids’ favorite, and we agree, best with kids! Multiple pools, a shallow sandy beach area, an outdoor rock climbing wall, a play set, and the best part, a full waterslide (!!!). Very big and very fun. The poolside bar with dippin’ dots is a kid favorite.

3. Andaz.

Our first taste of Arizona five years ago. We love it here and have been back almost annually. Bungalows, modern furnishings, hip and cool luxury. Walkable to Trader Joes which makes it super easy to not have to rent a car.

Five years ago! It’s hard to believe.

Happy sun-seeking. There is not much I love more in life than a warm weather trip to a pool in the middle of winter.

One Second Video 2022!

I am not a scrapbooker, but I memory keep for my kids in two ways: really good photos, and one second video clips that I compile throughout the year. This is year 5! Can’t believe I’ve kept it up this long but am so glad I did. So much happens in these young years and I love having it captured in this candid way. Here’s our year in seconds.
